Haikyo simply means ruins in Japanese. But haikyo also describes the Japanese version of the hobby known as urban exploration. Haikyoists, as we call them, visit abandoned towns, houses, hospitals, schools, industrial sites, theme parks and virtually any forgotten or abandoned place.
